So that's what a Mandrake sounds like

Hey y'all! Another week, another email. Let's get into it! Monday was a tad boring, I was only able to go to one site but English tutoring went ok nonetheless. Tuesday was pretty fun! For starters, I now have two people to tutor at UVR. It's a tad difficult just because they are on quite different levels but it definitely made it more fun. I've just got to get a little better at coming up with stuff on the go. The clinic was pretty nice. My head hurt so I didn't get to translate but hopefully this week I can again! I then had Piano lessons and that was an experience. The first kid gave me a lot of confidence that was immediately destroyed with the second. I suck at reading bass clef, which I am working on, but can usually get away with due to knowing treble clef. Unfortunately, one of the songs for the second student was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious which was just nah and the second was the pink panther song which was written with bass clef for both hands. Luckily, she needed help with counting and understanding basic theory so it worked out but my stars that got tricky. English class was lovely as always, though I did have the fun opportunity to try to print on a very old printer. That wasn't the greatest. Wednesday at family haven was interesting. Probably the most memorable part is when a kid just absolutely started shrieking and no one picked him up to comfort him so I did and he then proceeded to put his mouth about an inch away from my ear and just shrieked. Pretty dang sure that's what a mandrake sounds like cause my stars that was something! He calmed down pretty quickly after that luckily because just wow. The rest of the day was mostly relaxing and comp study. Thursday I had my temple shift which was again about the same as usual. I didn't end up going to Myhometown but hopefully this next week I can! Friday was again family haven which was chill enough. I didn't go out with the hermanas so no unusual things I ate to recount this week. Conference!!! We had sooo much fun for conference! We did our usual fort and snacking and crafting. I made some decent progress on my blanket too which was quite nice. Stick around till the end for my notes! We also got to have all of my comps over which was so amazing! I love all my sisters ❤️ I made some aloo gobhi, naan, and sushi too which was pretty bomb if I do say so myself. I would highly recommend Browns talks if you have not heard it because just wooowwww. Service missionaries also got a shout out so that was sick. Amos also made a great reference to Tony's seasoning, which is amazing, so that was fun to hear. A little bit wild to see Elder Matthew Holland speak because I grew up with his son so that was just kind of weird. Absolutely loved his talk though! My brother also got another dog and shes so so sweet so now ive got a doggo to play with and one to snuggle which i'm pretty dang excited about. I've also started to work on my French again when I have time as well as some basic finger signing so that's pretty fun. Spiritual thought: My conference notes! (most are not direct quotes, just vibes) Peacemaking does not mean a closed mind but an open heart (Stevenson). Turn away from sin and towards the Savior (Uchtdorf). Jesus understands all and will love and comfort us (Rasband). Agency includes the choice to choose well (Brown). The gift of God's light always still required a choice (Brown). A testimony of Jesus Christ was never supposed to be a temporary thing (Brown). The gospel is a lifelong pursuit (cook). Jesus blessed all (faithful, sinful, no seeking) and gives all a new beginning. Only the Savior knows the level of difficulty and can judge. Looking to God does not mean making him our only priority but our highest priority (Christopherson) Godly fear is good and will not stress you (Bednar). Godly fear is acknowledging how things are and how they will be (Bednar). The best 'sermons' are through our Christ-like actions (Cuvelter). In mortality, all are fallen (M. Holland) Forsake not your own mercy (M. Holland). Love yall! Sister Wynn Photos here!
