🕊️❤️🕊️
This week was pretty good but I thought I'd take a quick second to say how much I love President Nelson and his messages, especially his message on our need to be a peacemaker. May we all show love and care to ourselves and neighbors during these continually troubled times. May we also pray for the victims in Michigan. Love you all! On that note, let's get into the week!
I don't really remember Monday... Whoops! Tuesday was a pretty awesome day at the clinic and UVR. I got to have my usual lessons at UVR but also got to help someone look for jobs. It was more fun than usual though as she had a decent amount of qualifications, just almost no english. We found and applied to some jobs though so say a prayer about that one! The English lesson also again was a bit unhinged due to both mine and my students' lack of drawing ability. At the clinic, I got to do a bit of interpretation! I think I did on Monday too but Monday and Tuesday always blend in my mind. It was a little wild but apparently I was getting all the points across so we vibe yall! I also got to try out paraffin wax and talk with a sister who speaks like 5 languages so that was sick! I taught my first piano lessons at MyHometown which was a tad crazy but also pretty lit. Apparently I also play better than I thought because I played through most of the songs in the adult intermediate book before the kids got there so progress! I did have to write all the numbers on my fingers though as one of the kids was struggling a bit so I guess that may just be my look now. One of the kids thought I was a singer as she thought I had a pretty voice so a win is a win! English class was really really great as my friend who has been really struggling with English was doing so great! She finally mostly knows the alphabet and can kind of read and spell ish so progress! Wednesday was quite lovely at family haven from what I remember, just a lot of kids being menaces. The rest of the day was pretty chill as I spent some time with a friend and then just studied and rested. Thursday was my temple shift which was about the same as usual. MyHometown was a little funny that night though as one of the kids was just saying some of the most chaotic stuff and I had to keep redirecting as some of it was not appropriate for the younger children's ears. Crazy night lowkey. Friday was chaos at family haven. We had a kid who was really struggling and had to be restrained. I also had a kid who would cry if I was not carrying their stuffed animal and blanket but when I was holding them was happy as could be and playing. I really don't understand kids sometimes. I then had a lovely lunch with my parents and then went out with the Hermanas. Hna Salvador went to a wedding so It was just me and Hna downs. We had a bit too much fun but also got some work done. We also tried intestine in a quesadilla-like thing which was not bad but also really weird to think about. Soon we're going to try head/brain so that'll be cool. Saturday I had a haircut with Sarah which was lit and then I had my temple shift. We had a group who came through baptistry who were deaf and did baptisms which was genuinely one of the coolest things ive seen and experienced. I then had a fun color me mine date with sarah and I painted a raccoon so what could be better! I had a zone conference tonight which was pretty great. Today also marks 12 years since ive been baptized so kind of crazy!
Scripture/Quote of the Week:
"The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives" -President Nelson
Love you all!
