That wasn't tofu

Hey y'all! Another great week here in Orem. I'm frankly quite tired but absolutely loving it. Feels really great to be making an impact, even a small one. I also finished the New Testament which means I have officially read all 5 works. Let's get into it! Monday was pretty cool. I got to scan a crap ton of documents in the morning to help with emigration and citizenship which was really cool. The clinic was also quite cool as, due to feeling decent that day, I was able to do more of the workouts with people. I also chatted with someone for like 30 minutes solo en español and that felt really great. They also let me do some blood pressures, so fun stuff. I can also apparently almost do a pull up despite taking a health break from working out so 😎. We also worked a lot on the alphabet this week and associated sounds and they're starting to recognise certain words and letters and it is so amazing. Tuesday was a little different than usual. A family thing came up for the person I usually work under at UVR so I didn't really get to do anything so I chilled with keaton most of the morning. The clinic was hopping a bit for a while though and I was able to refer someone looking for english help to UVR so i'm hoping they follow through there. Wednesday was again fairly chill, mostly just stuff at family haven. There were a concerning amount of kids so it was absolute insanity but it was good. If i'm being honest, things are already starting to blur week to week so I guess I should start journaling... Thursday was great in the laundry but they had me running around basically the entire time and stay late so I was very tired and a bit light headed by the end. I was able to help one of the workers as he doesn't really speak english. My Spanish sucked but the point got across! I then went to dinner with my lovely companion. We had sushi and hot pot, which I was very excited for as I've never had hot pot. I scooped up some add-ins and was very excited to see a sign for fried tofu and grabbed multiple pieces. After throwing it in the delicious sauce, I tried it and was very very confused. It was weirdly dense and fishy and not tofu esc, aside from looks. I expressed my confusion and sister Rhinehart tried one and informed me they were fishcakes. RIP me. It's ok though cause I got some tofu after that tasted like tofu lol. We ended up playing a ton of duets on the piano/violin after which was great but again reminded me I can only really play by ear, not sheet music. Friday started rough. I woke up and realized I slept through my alarm to the point that I was already late. crap. I basically sprinted out the door, showed up at family haven and saw that, while it's usually absolute chaos, there was almost no one there? Thank heavens but it was a bit odd, especially after Wednesday. They actually ended up having me clean out the pantry of any expired items which was a lovely little hermit moment for me after caring for kids. After family haven, I crocheted for a while then had some time with my bestie which was fantastic! We both got our top suitor on marrying mr darcy and had some tasty lemon gelato so definitely a win. Saturday was temple shift and going out with the sisters. I was frankly not feeling fantastic that morning which wasn't the best but I got through. I'm now officially fully trained in the temple so yay! Being with the sisters was also pretty great though we only got to two houses due to some chatty people. It was good though. I also made some cookies because I taught the discussion today in zone council and was also doing the treats. Happy that that is done with! This was last week but I wanted to share because it's a bit funny. I've been tasked with being the Spanish speaker when I'm out with the sisters. We often run into Spanish speakers which means the sisters just stare at me until I start speaking Spanish with them. This happened multiple times last week, one of which resulted in a very long discussion with a brother, which I happened to zone out during and thus was fairly confused and basically ended with "sorry about that, Jesus loves you. Bye!" In Spanish cause I panicked. Fun but a tad crazy tbh. I'm currently considering another service site to fill up my Wednesday Fridays a little more so i'm excited to see how that turns out. That's about it though, I think at least so yee! On another note, thank you to everyone who sent letters to me. I've read a few and it's been so amazing to have such love and support. Love you all! ❤️❤️❤️ Scripture of the Week: 1 John 4:8,16 "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is Love" "And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is Love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him" Love, Sister Wynn Photos here!
