So it begins!
Hello everyone!
I've completed the first week of the mission so yay! Not much happened this week as it was at home MTC. If you are unaware, I have been shifted to a service mission due to medical reasons so I only had one week of MTC so I now get to start! YAY!!! I have some interviews/tours set up for this next week with some service sites so I am very excited. Most of my top picks have already agreed to at least let me tour so it's going to be a very fun week. I have also already been set apart as a temple worker and will be working in the laundry on Thursdays and ordinances on Saturdays at the Orem Temple, which is my favorite temple so I am absolutely pumped! I'm also planning to go and teach with the teaching missionaries at least a night every week so that is going to be very exciting!
As I said before, not much happened this last week but I did still have a few fun experiences. I got to meet my district as well as my advisors and they are all very lovely. I particularly love my advisors, the Brummers! MTC was also quite chill and I made a friend as Sister Yates is amazing. We also had a very fun day in MTC where we kept doing the "holy flip" in the scriptures and I got to do the flips as I was the only one with a hard copy of the scriptures. I happened to flip to only chaotic stories but we all got answers so it was really funny (another sister and I were struggling to breathe due to laughter) but also quite special. I also had a very funny experience as I had someone reach out to me on facebook asking about my religion. I am fairly sure they were pulling my leg but I was able to share my testimony, online options for the Book of Mormon, and send them to some missionaries in their area so either way, not too bad! Aside from this, my days have mostly been spent in scripture study, spanish study, and spending time with family. I also got my new tags yesterday so now I don't have to explain all the time why my tags are in spanish but I dont speak all that much spanish! I am so beyond happy to get to be here for more things as my family is basically the greatest ever so we've been having a blast! I've already been able to attend things I would have missed so definitely some blessings!
That's about it for my week but I just wanted to throw out a quick thank you to all who have been so kind during this transition. I know it's been a bit chaotic but everyone has been so loving and I very much appreciate it. I have gotten so many kind visits, texts, gifts, and prayers and it all means so so much to me. I love yall and, while I still have little idea what my missionary service is going to look like, I'm excited to see what God has planned for me.
I thought I'd end my email with a scripture each week so yeah!
"For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's. the same shall save it"
Mark 8:35
Love,
Sister Wynn
(ps. I'd love to hear from all of yall! I don't actually have a p-day and probably won't so that I can serve more so feel free to message me during the week and do not be too shocked if I respond multiple days of the week. Additionally, feel free to leave this email chain (I would love to hear from you but dont mind if you'd rather not get the weekly email) or send me other people's emails that want to be on here. And please add me if i'm not already on any of your email lists!)
