3 Background Tests in a Year!?

Hey y'all! It's been a really good week! I was able to start some of my service sites, go out with the sisters, and give my mission talk. Let's get into it! Monday was pretty chill. I mostly chilled with my sister Naomi in the pool but was then told I could start two of my service sites the next day. I was unfortunately unable to start one due to the physical therapist being sick however I got to go help with my first English class! I was able to do some one on one work with a woman who only speaks arabic. She doesn't really know how to read or write in either language so it was a bit tricky but was so cool! She is very kind and I am excited to get to help her! Wednesday was another fairly chill day. I basically just cleaned a lot due to boredom to be honest. Thursday I got to go to family haven for orientation. It was really great and now I'm just waiting on my background test. Fun fact, ive now had 3 in the last 10 months due to EMT, Argentina prep, and now family haven. The government is probably keeping tabs on me at this point! Regardless, the rest of the day was lovely as I got to go to lunch with my mom then helped out a sister in my ward with some cleaning. I then finished off the day with a quick study session with my comp sister stocks that quickly turned into a hang out but we studied a little bit! Friday was mostly helping with some cleaning again (thus the nearer my god to thee kazoo edition) then a dentist appointment. They were so lovely about my mint allergy and even gave me a tube of kids toothpaste! Usually I leave with a slight allergic reaction so that was a very welcome change. Saturday was mostly laundry and chilling until later when I went out with the sisters! It was really cool because, due to a comp being sick, I was with a sister and a hermana, meaning we went to a couple spanish appointments. I was very proud as, while i couldn't speak much, I understood just about everything! We also did some fun singing of hymns in the apartments while waiting for someone to come out. This morning, I gave my mission talk, which is in my photo album. Thank you to all who supported me, either in zoom or in person! I've got zone conference later today and a new missionary dinner tomorrow night so I'm excited to see how those go! Additionally, I'm really starting with two of my service sites tomorrow with tutoring in the morning and classes at night with UVR and the CRC in between but that's just on monday and tuesday. I'm also helping with some dessert stuff for events due to my temple shifts currently on hold due to temple maintenance and not being fully approved at family haven but it should be a very exciting week! Finding my footing

Hello everyone! It's been another week so I am back! This week was really great as I was able to figure out which service sites I'm going to be serving at, do some service, and have my first two temple shifts! So, this week started with some lovely tours to service sites I was interested in. I had those on Monday and Wednesday and was very lucky to get to go with the Brummers and some new sisters. I ran into some friends at some of the sights which was lovely! (If you're one of them, my apologies for not being able to chat. We had to keep touring.) While there were many lovely places, I have decided to serve at Utah Valley Refugees, Family Haven, and the Community Rehabilitation Clinic. I won't bore you with the details but basically, I will be teaching English and music at UVR, doing some childcare and minor emotional help at the FH, and assisting with physical therapy at the CRC. So it begins!

Hello everyone! I've completed the first week of the mission so yay! Not much happened this week as it was at home MTC. If you are unaware, I have been shifted to a service mission due to medical reasons so I only had one week of MTC so I now get to start! YAY!!! I have some interviews/tours set up for this next week with some service sites so I am very excited. Most of my top picks have already agreed to at least let me tour so it's going to be a very fun week. I have also already been set apart as a temple worker and will be working in the laundry on Thursdays and ordinances on Saturdays at the Orem Temple, which is my favorite temple so I am absolutely pumped! I'm also planning to go and teach with the teaching missionaries at least a night every week so that is going to be very exciting! Lets Party!!!

Hey everyone! I hope it's been a good week! This week was a bit of a party so let's get into it! Monday was pretty chill. One of the sweet ladies I teach invited me to her sons birthday party on wednesday which was so beyond sweet but Ill get more later. Tuesday was pretty chill as I had my usual schedule but I did mess up pretty badly. We finished a lesson in english class so I offered some gummy bears as a reward, as I tend to do. Unfortunately, I forgot that everyone I was teaching does not eat pork or pork products (such as gelatine) due to religion. Oops.... Twas a bit awkward but they were very sweet about it. I also learned there is another service missionary joining that class and got to meet him. He's very nice so it was fun to chat for a bit. Wednesday was mostly chilling with family so yee.
